Guam Dolphin Cruise with Kids | You&I Dolphin Cruise Honest Review

While planning our Guam trip, I was looking for activities the whole family could enjoy — and the Guam dolphin cruise caught my eye. There are quite a few operators on the island, but finding the right one with a young child isn’t easy. After comparing several options, we went with You&I Dolphin Cruise.

Why We Chose You&I Dolphin Cruise

Two things mattered most when picking a tour. First, my wife was pregnant, so we needed a larger, more stable boat with minimal rocking. Second, with a young kid in tow, we wanted a relaxed pace rather than a packed itinerary. You&I Dolphin Cruise checked both boxes.

Pricing: $55 for adults, $40 for children. A deposit is required to confirm the booking ($15 adults, $10 children). We booked the morning departure, and pickup arrived at our hotel, Dusit Beach Resort, right on time at around 8:30 AM.

Quick Stop at Emerald Valley

On the way to the dock, the tour makes a brief stop at Emerald Valley. The water really is that shade of emerald green — perfect for photos. Seojin stared at it for a while, genuinely puzzled by the color.

All Aboard

The boat was bigger than I expected — reassuring for those concerned about seasickness. Kids’ life jackets were provided on board, so nothing extra needed. Seojin absolutely loved putting his on.

Dolphin Watching — Sea Turtles Were a Bonus

We spotted dolphins for about 20 minutes. The weather was perfect — completely flat water — and we saw quite a few. The staff also shouted out sea turtle sightings, so we ended up seeing several of those too. Every time a dolphin jumped, Seojin screamed with excitement.

Snorkeling and Fishing

After dolphin watching came snorkeling. Seojin loves water and has no fear of it, so we both jumped in and had a great time. One thing I appreciated: they set out a floating mat so kids have somewhere to rest. For parents worried about keeping younger kids safe in the water, this is a nice touch.

We also tried fishing afterward. A couple of people on the boat caught something, but honestly the fish weren’t biting much for us. Didn’t matter — Seojin was happy just holding the rod.

On-Board Facilities and Snacks

There’s a basic shower area and a toilet on board — completely fine for a family trip. Snacks included tuna sashimi, canned beer, crackers, bread, and Capri-Sun. Beer was unlimited, but I had a rental car that afternoon so I passed. Seojin drank two Capri-Suns without hesitation.

I’ve been on a lot of boat tours over the years, but this was one of the most relaxed and comfortable ones I can remember. If you’re doing a Guam dolphin cruise with kids, You&I is a solid choice.

Sharks at the Dock?!

As we were disembarking, one of the staff suddenly shouted “shark!” I assumed it was a joke — but there were actually two large sharks swimming right by the dock. I was more startled than Seojin was. Quite the finale for the tour.

Tips for the Guam Dolphin Cruise with Kids

  1. Sunscreen is essential: UV in Guam is intense. Apply carefully before and after snorkeling. A rash guard is also a must.
  2. Bring a light jacket and towel: After snorkeling, the breeze on deck gets surprisingly cold. Pack a light layer and a large towel for your child.
  3. Book the morning departure: Morning tours have calmer water and better conditions, especially with young kids.
